The Earth River SUP DUAL 9-6 S3 is a compact all-around inflatable paddle board with the agility of a small board and the build of a serious one — X9 Dual Core construction and the full LAKE RIVER COAST™ fin pack in a 9'6", 22 lb package that's quick on the water and easy to take anywhere.

Who Is The DUAL 9-6 For?

The DUAL 9-6 is for lighter riders, travelers, and paddlers who value maneuverability above all — the people who found the standard 10–11 ft board size too big and want something that responds instantly instead. It supports intermediate and advanced riders up to 205 lb, and novices up to 170 lb.

It takes the compactness and agility of the SKYLAKE 9-6 shape and adds a layer of ruggedness. That combination has made it a favorite of the more adventurous riders on the ERS team: it excels in surf and whitewater, while its 31" width keeps it stable and sleek enough for touring and general paddling on the days in between.

9'6" | 31" wide | 5" thick | 22 lb board weight | Riders up to 205 lb (novices up to 170 lb)

Why Riders Choose The 9'6" DUAL

Class-leading maneuverability. At 9'6", the board turns quicker and reacts faster than full-size all-arounders — the reason it's the pick for paddle surfing and whitewater play. The GEN-3 Gecko Grip deck pad holds your stance when the water gets technical, and the contoured tail pad gives tactile feedback for rear-foot moves like pivot turns and tail drops.

A fin pack that changes what the board is. The full LAKE RIVER COAST™ system ships with four US center fins (9", 8", 4.5", and 3") plus two sets of side click fins (4.5" and 1"). Run the side fins in a surf or whitewater configuration and the 9-6 becomes a serious moving-water board; run the single 9" center and it becomes a sleek distance cruiser.

Small enough to fly with. The 9'6" length rolls down smaller than full-size boards, and at 22 lb the whole kit — board, pump, fins — travels in the included rolling backpack. Air travel is one of its recommended uses.

Built For Years Of Real Use

The X9 Dual Core construction carries additional reinforcement layers in the areas that take the most wear — the added ruggedness that turns the agile SKYLAKE 9-6 shape into a board built for surf and whitewater. The Enhanced Dynamic Rail stiffens the board's edge so it holds its shape at pressure, high-grade stainless steel D-rings at the nose, tail, and forward deck take a leash or tie-downs, and every board is covered by a 24-month warranty.

The Fin System

The LAKE RIVER COAST™ (LRC) Fin System includes four US center fins (9", 8", 4.5", and 3") and two sets of side click fins (4.5" and 1"), all packed in a padded ERS fin and accessories bag. The triple-fin setup runs an optimized toe-in angle, and the center fin box accepts any US Fin Box-compatible fin plus FCS Connect™ tool-less center fins, so you're never locked into ERS-only hardware.

Safety note for whitewater use

A standard ankle leash is not recommended for whitewater paddling. Use a quick-release leash, wear a helmet, and wear an inherently buoyant life jacket — all are important safety equipment in moving river water.

Inflation

The ERS 12VDC 20PSI Electrical Pump inflates this board to 15PSI in approximately 11 minutes. The included double-action manual pump inflates on both the downstroke and upstroke, cutting inflation time and effort roughly in half.

How The DUAL 9-6 Fits The ERS Lineup

Earth River SUP builds the DUAL series on X9 Dual Core construction with the full LRC fin pack — the heavier-duty build for paddlers who make surf and moving water a regular part of their paddling. Within that series, the 9-6 is the compact option: same construction and fin system as the 10'7" DUAL, in a shorter, narrower shape that trades some glide for quicker response. It was shaped for lighter paddlers, frequent flyers, and surf- and river-focused riders.

What's Included

Every 9'6" DUAL ships with a deluxe rolling backpack, a high-pressure double-action pump, the padded fin and accessories bag with all included fins, and a 24-month warranty.

FAQ

What size paddler is the DUAL 9-6 best for?
It supports intermediate and advanced riders up to 205 lb, and novices up to 170 lb. The compact 9'6" shape was made for lighter riders and for paddlers who found standard 10–11 ft boards too big.
Is it stable enough for everyday paddling, or is it a specialist board?
Both. The DUAL 9-6's 31" width keeps it stable for touring and general paddling, while the short length gives it the maneuverability that makes it a favorite for surf and whitewater. It's a versatile all-around board in a smaller package rather than a single-purpose shape.
What's in the fin pack?
The DUAL 9-6 ships with the full LAKE RIVER COAST™ (LRC) Fin System: four US center fins (9", 8", 4.5", and 3") plus two sets of side click fins (4.5" and 1"), packed in a padded ERS fin and accessories bag. The center fin box also accepts any US Fin Box-compatible fin and FCS Connect™ tool-less center fins.
Can it handle whitewater and river surfing?
Yes — the LRC fin configuration transforms the DUAL 9-6 into a serious surf and whitewater option, and it's a favorite of the more adventurous riders on the ERS team. For whitewater, use a quick-release leash (not a standard ankle leash), a helmet, and an inherently buoyant life jacket.
Is it a good travel board?
Air travel is one of the DUAL 9-6's recommended uses. The 9'6" length rolls down smaller than full-size boards, the board weighs 22 lb, and the whole kit — board, pump, and fins — travels in the included deluxe rolling backpack.
How is the DUAL 9-6 different from the SKYLAKE 9-6 shape it's based on?
It keeps the SKYLAKE 9-6's compact, agile shape and adds a layer of ruggedness: X9 Dual Core construction and the full LRC fin pack with four center fins and two sets of side fins. That build is what makes it suitable for regular surf and whitewater use.
Can I paddle it for distance and touring?
Yes — run the single 9" center fin for sleek distance performance, and the DUAL 9-6's 31" width keeps it efficient for touring and general paddling between surf and river sessions. Paddlers whose main goal is covering long distances should look at the DUAL 12-6 GT, the touring shape in the series.
What's included with the DUAL 9-6?
A deluxe rolling backpack, a high-pressure double-action pump that inflates on both the downstroke and upstroke, the padded ERS fin and accessories bag with all four center fins and both sets of side fins, and a 24-month warranty.
