The Earth River SUP DECK 9-6 S3 is the compact board in the DECK series — 9'6" long and 17 lb — built for paddlers who travel with their board, for smaller paddlers who want a board scaled to them, and for anyone who values the quickest possible path from car to water.
Who Is The DECK 9-6 For?
The DECK 9-6 is for paddlers who feel every pound and every inch of a board — carrying it down to the water, lifting it onto a roof rack, fitting it into luggage. At 17 lb it is the lightest board in the DECK series, and packed down it rivals dedicated travel boards for footprint, without giving up the full fin system, deck pad, and cargo setup of its bigger siblings. It's recommended for riders up to 185 lb, and up to 205 lb for advanced riders.
The shorter, narrower shape also makes the 9-6 quick to turn: lighter paddlers in particular will find it livelier and easier to drive than a full-size all-around board.

The 9-6 keeps the series' full equipment: the reptile-skin traction pad (ERS specs it at 40% thicker than the industry average), the contoured kick pad and arch support at the tail for rear-foot moves like pivot turns, stainless steel D-rings at nose, tail, and forward deck, and the bungee cargo system.
Quick on its feet. The compact footprint responds fast to a turning stroke, and the kick pad is there for paddlers working on surf-style moves — tail turns, quick direction changes, playing in small waves.

The X7 construction fuses the laminate to the drop-stitch core rather than gluing it as a separate layer, with additional reinforcement in the areas that take the most wear. The result is a board that holds its rigidity at pressure, resists delamination at the seams, and keeps its weight down at the same time — that is how a fully equipped board comes in at 17 lb.
Every DECK 9-6 is covered by a two-year warranty, and it ships with the same accessory grade as the rest of the ERS line: a deluxe rolling backpack and a double-action pump that inflates on both the downstroke and upstroke, cutting inflation time and effort roughly in half.
The Fin System
The DECK 9-6 runs the LAKE RIVER COAST™ (LRC) Fin System in a three-fin thruster configuration with an optimized toe-in angle. All three fins click in and out without tools, and they pack into the included padded ERS fin and accessories bag. Run all three for tracking and stability, or pull the side fins for faster flat-water glide.

Safety note for whitewater use
A standard ankle leash is not recommended for whitewater paddling. Use a quick-release leash, wear a helmet, and wear an inherently buoyant life jacket — all are important safety equipment in moving river water.

The ERS 12VDC 20PSI Electrical Pump inflates this board to 15PSI in approximately 9 minutes.
