The Earth River SUP SKYLAKE 10-9 S3 is the wide, stable board of the SKYLAKE series — a 34" all-around inflatable paddle board that supports larger riders, gives beginners confidence, and carries a passenger, a dog, or a load of cargo without getting nervous underfoot.

Who Is The SKYLAKE 10-9 For?

The SKYLAKE 10-9 is for paddlers who put stability first: people learning to paddle, big and tall riders, anyone bringing kids, pets, or gear along, and paddlers whose sessions include fishing, yoga, acro, or photography — activities where a steady platform matters more than outright speed. It is recommended for riders from 120 to 225 lb, and up to 245 lb for experienced riders.

The original ERS 10-9 earned a reputation as a classic for on-water stability, and it is impressively mobile for a board of its size. This S3 version adds the core of the LAKE RIVER COAST™ fin system, so the same steady board can be set up — with a fin change — for speed, choppy water, or rapids up to Class II.

10'9" | 34" wide | 5" thick | 22 lb board weight | Riders 120–225 lb (up to 245 lb experienced)

Why Riders Choose The 10'9" SKYLAKE

Stable for the people and things you bring along. The 34" width is what separates the 10-9 from typical all-around boards. It stays composed with a passenger seated on the nose, a cooler strapped to the bungee, or a dog pacing the deck — and it keeps beginners upright while they find their balance.

Steady enough to work on. For fishing, SUP yoga, acro, and photography, you want a board that holds still when you move around on it. The full deck pad and contoured tail pad give secure footing anywhere you stand, and high-grade stainless steel D-rings at the nose, tail, and forward deck secure the gear those sessions involve.

Composed when the water picks up. Choppy water, boat wake, and rapids up to Class II are all within what the 10-9 handles. The same width that helps beginners is what keeps it predictable in rough water.

Built For Years Of Real Use

The X9 fused laminate construction bonds the laminate to the drop-stitch core with additional reinforcement layers in the areas that take the most wear, and the Enhanced Dynamic Rail stiffens the board's edge so it holds its shape at pressure. At 22 lb, it stays manageable to carry and pack despite the wide footprint, and every board is covered by a two-year warranty.

The Fin System

The LAKE RIVER COAST™ (LRC) Fin System on the SKYLAKE 10-9 includes two US center fins (8" and 4.5") and one set of 4.5" side click fins, packed in a padded ERS fin and accessories bag. Run the 8" center for tracking on open water, drop to the 4.5" for shallow or tight water, and add the side fins for control in chop or moving water. The center fin box accepts any US Fin Box-compatible fin plus FCS Connect™ tool-less center fins, so you're never locked into ERS-only hardware.

Safety note for whitewater use

A standard ankle leash is not recommended for whitewater paddling. Use a quick-release leash, wear a helmet, and wear an inherently buoyant life jacket — all are important safety equipment in moving river water.

Inflation

The ERS 12VDC 20PSI Electrical Pump inflates this board to 15PSI in approximately 11 minutes. The included double-action manual pump inflates on both the downstroke and upstroke, cutting inflation time and effort roughly in half.

How The SKYLAKE 10-9 Fits The ERS Lineup

Within the SKYLAKE series, the 10-9 is the wide, high-capacity board: 34" across to the 10-7's 32", with a higher rider range (up to 245 lb experienced versus 225 lb). Paddlers choosing between them are really choosing between glide and cargo — the 10-7 covers water with less effort, the 10-9 carries more and stays steadier for on-board activities like yoga, fishing, and paddling with passengers.

What's Included

Every 10'9" SKYLAKE ships with a deluxe rolling backpack, a high-pressure double-action pump, the padded fin and accessories bag with all included fins, and a 24-month warranty.

FAQ

What size paddler is the SKYLAKE 10-9 best for?
It's recommended for riders from 120 to 225 lb, and up to 245 lb for experienced riders. The 34" width is there for exactly those paddlers — big and tall riders, and anyone bringing a passenger or cargo along.
Is this a good board for beginners?
Yes. The SKYLAKE 10-9's reputation is built on stability — the 34" width keeps new paddlers upright while they find their balance, and the board stays predictable in chop and boat wake. It's a board you won't outgrow quickly, either: it handles fishing, yoga, passengers, and rapids up to Class II as you get into more kinds of paddling.
Can I paddle with a child or dog on board?
That's one of the SKYLAKE 10-9's core uses. The 34" width keeps it composed with a passenger or pet on deck, and the stainless steel D-rings and forward deck take tie-downs for cargo. It's recommended for riders up to 225 lb (245 lb experienced), so factor in your combined weight.
Is the SKYLAKE 10-9 good for SUP yoga or fishing?
Yes — yoga, acro, fishing, and photography are all things it's made for. For those you want a board that holds still when you move around on it, which is what the 10-9's width and full deck pad give you.
What fins are included?
The SKYLAKE 10-9 runs the LAKE RIVER COAST™ (LRC) Fin System, with two US center fins (8" and 4.5") and one set of 4.5" side click fins, packed in a padded ERS fin and accessories bag. The center fin box also accepts any US Fin Box-compatible fin and FCS Connect™ tool-less center fins.
How is the SKYLAKE 10-9 different from the SKYLAKE 10-7?
The 10-9 is 34" wide to the 10-7's 32", carries a higher rider range (up to 245 lb experienced versus 225 lb), and weighs one pound more at 22 lb. Choose the 10-9 for stability, passengers, and on-board activities like yoga and fishing; choose the 10-7 for more glide on touring and fitness paddles.
Can it handle rougher water?
Choppy water, small-wave surfing, and rapids up to Class II are all within what the SKYLAKE 10-9 is built for. For any whitewater, use a quick-release leash (not a standard ankle leash), a helmet, and an inherently buoyant life jacket.
What's included with the SKYLAKE 10-9?
A deluxe rolling backpack, a high-pressure double-action pump that inflates on both the downstroke and upstroke, the padded ERS fin and accessories bag with both center fins and the side fins, and a 24-month warranty.
