Starboard Inflatable Stand Up Paddle Boards

TOURING AND CASUAL INFLATABLES

Looking at a Starboard iGo or Touring inflatable SUP? Here's how they compare to the Earth River SUP and Red Paddle Co boards we carry, organized by use case so you can see which fits your paddling. We aren't stocking Starboard's current product line, but you can find pricing and availability at Starboard's own site.

All-Around Boards: iGO vs. Earth River SUP and Red Paddle Co

The Starboard iGO comes in two sizes: 10'8" x 33" x 5.5" and 11'2" x 31" x 5.5".

The 10'8" iGO sits in the same all-around category as two boards we carry: the Earth River SUP 10'7" (10'7" x 32" x 5") and the Earth River SUP 10'9" (10'9" x 34" x 5"). All three are close in length, but Starboard adds capacity by going thicker (5.5"), while both ERS boards hold a 5" profile, which is what we cover in our guide to choosing the right inflatable SUP as the better starting point for most paddlers under about 200-225 lb: a lower, more connected feel without sacrificing stability. The ERS 10'9" gets its extra capacity from width instead of thickness, so it keeps that same connected feel while carrying more for a heavier rider, gear, or a dog.

If you're an average-weight all-around paddler, the ERS 10'7" is the board we'd point you to first. If you specifically need more volume for a heavier rider, cargo, or a dog, the ERS 10'9" gives you that extra width while keeping the same 5" thickness. See the Earth River SUP 10'7" collection or see the Earth River SUP 10'9" collection.

The 11'2" iGO is narrower and longer than the 10'8" version, aimed at paddlers who want more glide and speed out of an all-around board. The closest match in our lineup is the Red Paddle Co 11'3 Sport (11'3" x 32" x 4.72"), built around the same idea: a sleeker, narrower shape with a racing/touring fin setup for paddlers who want a faster board without going all the way to a dedicated touring shape. See the Red Paddle Co 11'3 Sport.

Touring Boards: Starboard Touring vs. Red Paddle Co Voyager and Elite

The Touring comes in 12'6" x 30" x 6" and 11'6" x 29" x 6". Both are dedicated touring shapes: longer and narrower than an all-around board, built to glide efficiently over distance.

The 12'6" Touring is closely matched by the Red Paddle Co 12'6 Elite (12'6" x 28" x 5.9", rider weight up to 240 lb). Same length, nearly identical thickness, and a narrower 28" profile. The Elite is built specifically for racing, with Red Paddle's RSS and FFC stiffening systems aimed at removing flex at speed. If your priority at 12'6" is genuine distance and speed performance, the Elite is arguably the more capable board of the two, even though it's narrower than Starboard's touring shape. See the Red Paddle Co 12'6 Elite.

The 11'6" Touring is aimed at lighter paddlers who want a touring-capable board, which is the same target the Red Paddle Co 12'0 Voyager is built for (12'0" x 28" x 4.71", rider weight up to 200 lb). The Voyager is six inches longer but more than an inch thinner, which gives it a lower, more locked-in feel for the rider it's designed around, while still carrying enough volume for loaded, longer paddles. See the Red Paddle Co 12'0 Voyager.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Pumped Up SUP carry Starboard inflatable SUPs?
Not currently. We've put this page together as a comparison guide so you can see how Starboard's iGo Zen and Touring ZEN models stack up against the Earth River SUP and Red Paddle Co boards we do have in stock.

What's a good alternative to the Starboard iGO?
For the 10'8" model, the Earth River SUP 10'7" is our pick for most all-around paddlers, and the Earth River SUP 10'9" is the closer match if you need extra width for a heavier rider, cargo, or a dog. For the 11'2" model, the Red Paddle Co 11'3 Sport is the closer match in length, width, and speed-oriented shape.

What's a good alternative to the Starboard Touring Inflatable?
For the 12'6" model, the Red Paddle Co 12'6 Elite is the closest in-stock match in length and thickness, built for serious distance and racing. For the 11'6" model, the Red Paddle Co 12'0 Voyager targets the same lighter-rider touring use, in a longer, thinner shape.
